A resident of Sutton has contacted us to report a particular speeding incident that took place along Town Street. The resident reports that she was spooked yesterday afternoon (14th May around 15.00) by a vehicle that accelerated wildly as it passed the vehicle activated speedsign. It seemed that the driver was intent on registering his disdain with the sign and also with an intent to trouble the resident. We have made arrangements for the incident to be reported to the Police Mobile Speed Camera Team and hope that they will increase their surveillance of the village through roads.
The Parish Council have a number of live projects that it is hoped will encourage drivers to respect the 30mph limit and of course our own Sutton Speedwatch Team are active within the village. If you find yourselves similarly unnerved by speeding drivers acting in such a provocative and reckless manner then we suggest noting the Vehicle Registration Mark (VRM) and reporting the incident to the police on 101, let us know as well!
